Top issues during term (5)
personnel changes
Taxpayers could end up covering severance, interim replacements, and recruitment costs while City Hall fills two key jobs.
personnel termination
Taxpayers are on the hook for $484,000 in severance, even though the officials are no longer working for the city.
election tiebreaker
The coin flip likely saves the city the cost of a recount or runoff, but it doesn’t come with any major new spending.
legal dispute
Taxpayers could end up footing the bill for legal fees and staff time, and a loss could add damages or policy changes.
election tie
The direct taxpayer cost is likely negligible, but the bigger risk is public confidence in how city decisions get made.
